Owners of Fairmont Heritage Place, Kingdom of Sheba are guaranteed 14 days use of their own home and a further 14 days either within their own
home or in a similar one each year. These home reservations may also be exchanged for time at another Fairmont Heritage Place community or at
another Fairmont Hotels & Resorts' property around the world. Owners will be able to enjoy a total of 35 days of use each year at
Fairmont Heritage Place, Ghirardelli Square each year. Visits can be as short as one night, and the owner can choose any date. Owners receive 5
weeks with their purchase, two of which can be used at any Fairmont Hotel or Resort. If owners want to use more than their 5 weeks, they can use
available homes at the property on a space-available basis at any time for a “per night” charge.
building
Building starts late next year and is scheduled to finish in 2011. When complete, the Fairmont will be one of only six five-star hotels
operating in a US mountain report. Building out into the Mediterranean coast rather than build up was determined to be the best solution for this
project. It gave birth to a modern seven-story building with a singular geometric architecture overhanging the Mediterranean Sea.
construction
Construction began in 1925 and was completed in 1926. A number of Fairmont businesses had donated the money for the land to secure its
location, and the building itself was completed for a cost of just under $50,000. Construction of one hotel in each of these locations is already
under way, and if we call back in early 2008 we should find that each hotel has opened. The plans call for Lisbon and Oporto to be revisited and
for the southern resort of Faro and the Leiria/Coimbra area to be involved too.
