Turn A is quite different from your typical Gundam series and goes way off the beaten path into one more of an adventure. The adroit use of the setup allowed Turn A to escape the mold of more modern mecha series by Sunrise as there is less sexy violence through massacre after massacre and a lot less crying on the part of /m/en. Turn A was never meant to be a flashy mobile suit, but it's sheer destructive force coupled with its resiliance and invisibility is insane. I mean, Loran never knew about it until the end and why would he want to unleash Moonlight Butterfly knowing that it wiped out civilization once before? Turn A is set in the far future, but apparently somewhere along the line technology took a nose dive and all Mobile Suits were buried, including a Gundam. Some of these moon citizens come to Earth as advance scouts and adopt lives in regular society(Especially the main character Rolan).
